Norway edged Ivory Coast 2–1 in the Round of 32 at Dallas Stadium in Dallas, advancing after a tense contest that swung late in the second half.

Norway took control before the break when A. Nusa scored in the 39th minute to make it 1–0 at half-time. Ivory Coast responded after the interval, with A. Diallo levelling the match in the 74th minute. The equaliser was short-lived, however, as E. Haaland restored Norway's advantage in the 86th minute to settle the result.

Ivory Coast carried much of the attacking initiative, registering 12 shots to Norway's 9 and dominating the corner count 12 to 3, though both sides managed four shots on target. Norway held 54 percent of possession to Ivory Coast's 46 percent. Each team committed six fouls, and Norway picked up the only booking of the match.
